The Lucky Overnight Success! Written By: Anthony Stillwell
About a week ago I was watching a late night talk show where Vin
Diesel was the guest..
You know, the guy from "The Fast and the Furious" and the new movie "Triple
X". He said something that's been stuck on my mind for the past few days and
I thought (if you missed that particular show) you would be interested...
While on the show, Vin basically he said...
He had a dream.
A dream to become a "Big Time" actor.
So, he moved from New York to California (Hollywood) after having
been training as an actor since the age of nine. He figured that will all those
years of experience he could just show up in Hollywood and become an overnight
success.
Well...
After a solid year in Hollywood he didn't even have an agent.
So...
He had to pack up and move back to New York with his "tail between
his legs" so to speak.
Still determined not to give up on his dream he worked and saved
up about $3,000. Instead of buying a flat screen TV or something similar he
took all of that money and created a short film.
He took that film to the "Cannes Film Festival" where independent
film makers are showcased. He got a little recognition, but nothing like he
had hoped.
So...
It was back to New York with another "failure" under his belt.
Still determined not to give up on his dream he got together with
a friend and managed to save about $40,000 between the two of them. Instead
of buying a brand new car or something similar he used that money to create
a movie to showcase his talent.
Now... He's a "Big Time" actor.
What would YOU have done with that $40,000? Buy a new car or something
similar to have a possession to show to others?
Vin's point was that if you want to live your dream you have to
put everything you have into it. Instead of making money and buying things that
will raise your status in the eyes of your peers you should invest that money
towards your future. Towards a future where YOU live your dream.
Most people look at Vin and talk about how he's so lucky. They don't
ever see the struggle that went into creating that "luck". For Vin... Failure
was NOT an option and that's all the luck he needed.
Like Vin, I've always been a big believer of investing in the future
you want to create for yourself. It's sometimes the ONLY way to get to where
you wanna be.
The only reason you know who I am is because of my sheer determination
not to fail and my willingness early on to spend money on things that directly
contribute to the future I want to create for myself. Actually I still do that.
Instead of making $1,000 in a week and buying something cool that
made my friends sit up and take notice I used to take the money I made to buy
up all the marketing courses or other information that built my working knowledge
of this business I could afford. Still do that to a point.
The ONLY two ingredients you need to become a success are a belief
in yourself and an unshakable determination to succeed. The rest sort of takes
care of itself.
I DON'T settle and if YOU do... Make a promise to yourself that
from today on you will NOT settle for just any little thing life decides to
toss your way.
You Are the Master Of Your Own Fate!
Name any of the marketers who YOU feel are the best in the business
and every single one of them can tell you stories of how they (starting out)
used to take any profits they made to buy things that directly contributed to
the lifestyle you now see them lead. Luck wasn't a factor in their success and
it WON'T be a factor in yours.
You know what needs to be done, but are you willing to do it?

I'm a great believer in luck, and I find
the harder I work, the more I have of it.

It's easy to get caught up in thinking that you have to get some
sort of lucky break to get what you want in this life, but the truth of the
matter is that luck is preparing yourself NOW for opportunities that present
themselves later.
